The "WWII 101J Cowboy Jacket" is based on the "Cowboy Jacket" released in the 1930s, with some detail changes. The triple stitching, which emphasized workwear, was changed to double stitching, and the buttons were changed from the cowboy imprint to laurel leaf buttons.
The chest pocket flaps were rounded to reduce the sewing process, and the buckle back was eliminated, with only rivets and pleats remaining. In addition, this jacket uses "right-hand twill denim," which has a rough texture and was used until 1944, instead of the glossy "left-hand twill denim" that Lee often used.
