1930s Vintage Tapestry Purse Handbag Man & Woman in a Pastoral Scene Gold Detail
This vintage Delill tapestry handbag, likely from the 1930s, depicts on both sides a romantic scene with a woman holding a parasol and a man on a balcony with swans in the foreground. Purse is made of woven tapestry fabric, and put together with sink thread. Interior features a cream silk fabric that is in great clean condition with the exception of a few tiny dots of makeup or marker (refer to last image. Bag has a brass colored stamped metal frame, chain strap and beautifully detailed flower shaped clasp. The chain has some discoloration to the brass color. Reminiscent of the Victorian-era, bag is suitable as an elegant accessory for a night out. Bag measures roughly 8.5 in width and 9 in height.Delill was founded by husband-and-wife team Dezso “Desire” and Lilly Rotkel.
