This squeaky floor repair kit is suitable for all types of wooden floor joists - they can be used on any subfloor 5/8 inch or thicker. It works by filling the gaps in your subfloor that are causing the noise and creaks. It only takes two steps to complete - identify the location of the squeak/noise and then mount the provided bracket into that location of the subfloor - is easier to complete if you have two people! There is no drilling required if you do not have a drill - you can place two nails into the metal joist with a hammer. Use the provided screws for additional joist support. For maximum effectiveness, mount two brackets on either side of the joist.
