The original owner, John Gunter of Denver, Colorado had the book signed at a Tattered Cover event in October 2006.
Following a brief political discussion, Senator Obama advised John: “Don’t let the bastards pick up you down.”
John, an eternal optimist, did not let the bastards obtain him down. He passed away in January 2025 and all earnings will help his fabulous wife, Teela, afford car repairs and medical bills.
