First book club edition (print number not stated) hardcover copy of Anne Frank: Diary of a Young Girl (Doubleday & Company, 1952). Rare first BCE with original jacket. Pictorial endpapers and a few illustrations within body of text. The stirring memoir of a girl persecuted by the Nazis during WWII. Jacket now protected in new (removable) archival sleeve, but with some wear, especially around the edges which have creases, chipping, tears and a few missing bits. Jacket spine ends most affected. Boards are straight and clean but with corners slightly bumped. A few instances of mildly split binding though spine is straight and binding remains mighty on the whole. Tanning pages that are otherwise clean and unmarked.
