European economic integration index in eastern partnership
Eastern Partnership Economic Integration Index is a monitoring tool, which is designed to assess the level of economic interaction and to identify the factors that make positive and harmful impact on joint interaction.
The index was developed by Working group №2 “Economic Integration and Convergence with EU Policies” of Civil Society Forum, involving experts from various think tanks and organizations from all countries of the Eastern Partnership.
Pilot editions of Eastern Partnership Economic Integration Index were designed by the national Working groups №2 in each country of the Eastern Partnership in two dimensions for the first half 2014.
In the future it is planned to calculate the index for each calendar year in order to monitor the economic integration of the Eastern Partnership countries – Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Georgia, Moldova, and Ukraine. The index will give the opportunity to carry out a comparative description of the processes of economic integration of the countries of the Eastern Partnership with the European Union, as well as with each other.
