A wooden dowel was in the box but I am not sure what it's used for

Does not come with:
1 pair of tweezers
1 label sheet as the items have already been labeled

The box is in rough shape but the pieces in the set are in pretty exceptional shape considering they are 45 years old!! Please see all photos of condition.
