The “second breath” of the Dnipro Euroregion: the public sector develops communications


On September 2, the Polissya Fund of International and Regional Research on September 2 at the Discussion Club “Expert Thought” presented the results of the project “European experience of development of communication strategy within the framework of Euroregions”, implemented within the framework of the Program of the International Visegrad Fund “Vyshegrad Four for Eastern Partnership”.

According to the wordsEugene Romanenko, Vice President of the Polissya Fund, the project was aimed at developing communications between the participants of the Dnipro Euroregion on the basis of European experience in regional cooperation. “In many respects, this activity has become innovative. First, the Polissya Fund declared itself as an active participant in cross-border cooperation. Secondly, we have established effective contacts with Belarusian partners, which has already started the next project on Euroregional topics. Third, for the first time, a donor organization with the EU – the Visegrad Fund was involved in financing the projects of the Fund, ”Yevgeny Romanenko said.

By presenting a project materials collection,Boris Uvarov, project manager, adviser to the head of the Chernihiv Regional State Administration, stressed that Ukrainian and Belarusian public figures, representatives of local authorities and scientists involved in the project implemented, noted its high value as a communication site. “Conducted in Chernihiv and Homeli trainings, seminars, an international conference, a visit to the Visegrad Group countries not only achieved the planned results, but also through started contacts to enter new project ideas, in particular in the educational field. The experience of implementation of the project has shown that in the Chernihiv and Gomel regions there are a significant number of institutions ready to actively engage in cross -border interaction. Only a minor impetus is needed, ”Boris Uvarov stated. As envisaged by the project, as a result, the Center for Cross -Border Cooperation has been created, and its registration as a public organization is currently expired. It is planned that this institution will specialize in the development and implementation of cross -border projects in conjunction with a wide range of partners, will support the initiatives of interregional and cross -border nature.

In addition to the outlined achievements, this project has created the preconditions for intensifying economic cooperation within the framework of the Dnipro Euroregion. “The dissemination of information on the economic potential of Chernihiv and Gomel regions contributed to the information visit to the Visegrad Group countries. Within it, presentation meetings were held at the Ministry of National Economy of the Hungarian Republic, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Slovakia, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Czech Republic, as well as local administrations of Bratislava and Wroclaw, ”he saidYuri Vdovenko, Director of the Chernihiv Regional Center for Investment and Development.

The selection results will be reported by March 7, 2014 (inclusive).
