Gennady Maxak as part of the Leadership Committee of the Eastern Partnership Civil Society Forum met with Vice-Minister Tomasz Orlovsky
The meeting of representatives of the public sector and Mr. Vice-Minister was devoted to the role of civil society in the process of reforms and the importance of constructive dialogue of non-governmental organizations with authorities. Among the representatives of non -governmental organizations from the countries of the Eastern Partnership and the EU were: Gennady Maxak – President of the Polissya Fund Volochiy is a representative of the Civil Society Secretariat.
“Eastern partnership policy, despite criticism, proves its effectiveness,” said Vice -Minister Orlovsky, “and the civil society forum is a confirmation that citizens are able to create a successful and effective mechanism of cooperation.”
In conversation with representatives of the Civil Society Forum, the Vice-Minister emphasized the importance of civil society in the process of political transformation. He pointed to the problems facing the third sector in the countries of the Eastern Partnership, reminding the Polish commitment to strengthening social initiatives in these countries. Tomash Orlovsky has repeatedly emphasized the need for consistent implementation of reforms by the eastern partners, including more active involvement of communities. Much of the discussion has been devoted to the challenges facing the Eastern Partnership, especially in the context of complicating the situation in the region in the region and preparation for May 2015 planned for the Eastern Partnership Summite for May 2015.
Recall that the Eastern Partnership Civil Society Forum was founded in 2009. It unites representatives of non-governmental organizations in partner countries and in the European Union. The Forum actively supports the development of civil society in the countries of the Eastern Partnership, working on the creation of constructive dialogue between representatives of non-governmental organizations and authorities and in the field of intensification of cooperation between civil society organizations, partner countries and the European Union.
