The project “Strengthening the cooperation of power and civil society at the local level for the sake of community development” is gaining momentum
On January 19-21, 2011, representatives of the Polissya Fund of International and Regional Research took part in a training for coaches conducted by a laboratory of legislative initiatives within the project “Increasing cooperation between government and civil society at the local level for the sake of community development”, which is being implemented with the support of the Matssa Embassy.
The main purpose of the project is to stimulate the cooperation of the authorities and the public at the local level by training representatives of local NGOs and local authorities to strategies, models, tools of joint activity (cooperation) for the sake of development of local communities. We remind that the project is being implemented in four pilot regions of Ukraine:
– Autonomous Republic of Crimea (regional partners – Integration and Development Center and the International NGO Bizim Qirim);
– Volyn region (regional partner – center of political analysis and electoral consulting);
– Odesa region (regional partner – Odesa regional organization “Committee of Voters of Ukraine”);
– Chernihiv region (regional partner – Polissya Fund of International and Regional Research).
Training for coaches has become a point of reference in the implementation of measures aimed at performing the tasks of the project:
1. Creating a meaningful base to enhance the capacity of local NGOs and authorities to conduct effective campaigns at the local level
2. Increasing the ability of local NGOs and local authorities to conduct joint effective campaigns at local level in pilot regions
3. Creating an organizational base to increase the capacity of local NGOs and local authorities to conduct joint effective campaigns at the local level.
The trainers who participated in the training for coaches will be involved in the development of the program, the development of educational materials and training for local authorities and NGOs in the project implementation regions.
In turn, the purpose of these trainings is to train 28 representatives of local NGOs and 28 local authorities in 4 pilot regions of joint work skills for the sake of community development, which will be manifested in the implementation of joint projects (4 projects-one in each pilot region).
Thus, in the Chernihiv region will be trained for 7 representatives of the public sector and 7 representatives of local authorities to improve their ability to implement joint projects at the city, village, settlement, district or region level, after which they will be able to implement one coalition project.
