Chernihiv region for elections is ready

This was stated during a meeting of an independent public press center “Chernihiv Choice” by Serhiy Zozul, Head of the State Voter Register. According to him, all 1086 polling stations of Chernihiv region are ready to accept voters on October 31. The same amount of election commissions are financially and technically secured.

As for the lists of voters, yesterday the departments of maintenance were referred to the lists to the polling stations. A total of 886 585 voters will take part in our region elections, 33 736 people are not able to move on their own. Sergey Zozul noted that the number of voters who will vote at home can increase, as receiving applications for voting will last until 12.00 tomorrow – October 30. As for Chernihiv, 225 709 voters will vote in the city.

Andriy Khozhainov – Assistant Chief of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Emergencies in the Chernihiv Oblast said that the department he represents is ready to respond to emergencies on election day. Mr. Hazhaynov reported that as of today, all polling stations comply with fire safety standards.

Yevgeny Romanenko – Coordinator of an independent public survey of local elections of the OPORA Civic Network told about the problems of local elections. One of the main problems is that the elections take a short time. And it affected the formation of election commissions. According to Yevgeny Romanenko, there are very few professionals in the commissions – somewhere up to 15% of people refused to work in commissions because of high workload and low wages. But today, all 1086 election commissions of the region are fully completed.
