“Youth and Analytics”


A press conference dedicated to the start of a new project of the Polissya Fund of International and Regional Research “Activation of analytical activity of youth-the way to the development of civil society in Ukraine” was held at the Expert Club “Clean Policy”.

This project is a logical extension of the previous project of the Polissya Fund “Strengthening public activity at the regional level through the development of youth analytical activity”. Unlike the previous one, which covered only three northern regions (Chernihiv, Sumy and Zhytomyr), this project will be implemented on an all -Ukrainian scale.
At a press conference, the project executors provided information on the essence of the project, announced measures, which is planned to be taken within the framework of the project activity and their content. The project has been implemented by the Polissya Fund of International and Regional Research since August 1, 2010, with the support of National Endowment for Democracy.
During the project period, three analytics schools and publishing two as part of the draft numbers of Polissya Analytics are planned.
Schools will be held in the Chernihiv region. The number of participants in one school will be 25 people. The duration of school is 4 days.
Each school will be held on the following topics: “Analytical Centers”, “Sociological Research”, “Economic Analytics”, “Public Expertise”, “Regulatory Policy”, “Policy Analysis”.
Specialists of the Polissya Foundation for International and Regional Studies, the Youth Information Center and the All -Ukrainian Youth Research Center will be involved as coaches.
The first (autumn) school will be held in October – November 2010.
Until January 2011, participants of “analytics schools” with the help of specialists of the Polissya Fund of International and Regional Research will prepare information and analytical materials. The works of young analysts will be placed on the site of the Polissya Fund and all -Ukrainian partners’ websites. And in January 2011, the best works of young analysts will be published in the first within the project of the Polissya Analytics Information and Analytical Journal, which will be issued with a total circulation of 300 copies, the volume of 50 pages.
The second (winter) analytics school will be held in February 2011.
The third (spring) school is planned in May 2011.
In June 2011, the best works of young analysts will be published in the second as part of the project of the Polissya Analytics information and analytics.
The magazine will have no restrictions on the subject of analytical materials, but their political non -viability will be a mandatory requirement.
In addition, the project will constantly work on the creation of the All-Ukrainian Youth Analytical Network and ensuring the active information and analytical activity of its participants.
The project is aimed at developing public youth activity at the local level in all regions of Ukraine.
The implementation of this project enables young people from different parts of Ukraine to acquire the necessary basic tools for adequate understanding and analysis of the surrounding processes and transformations in politics, economy and society.
