II International Youth Forum “Students without Borders” – 2007

From November 2 to November 4, 2007 in Sumy on the basis of the recreation “Sunny Polyana” there was the II International Youth Forum “Students without borders” – 2007, which was organized by the Sumy City Youth Non -Governmental Organization “Student Republic” with the support of the regional department of family, youth and sports.

For the first time the International Youth Forum “Students without borders” was held in the fall of 2006. The need for such an event was due to the fact that the role of young people in the creation of a democratic society and the implementation of state youth policy is increasing today. Young people, especially students, show a real desire for participation in the political process, self -realization, manifestation of leadership potential, unity of youth organizations.

The forum was attended by representatives of non -governmental public organizations and student self -government of higher educational establishments from Ukraine, Russia and Belarus, which within three days exchanged experience in the field of creation and implementation of youth projects, developed possible ways of further cooperation.

The result of the 2006 Forum was the signing of an agreement on further cooperation between the participating countries

The purpose of holding the II International Youth Forum “Students without borders” was to search for effective models of cooperation between young people in Europe through the development and practical implementation of projects of joint activity in social, scientific, educational and cultural spheres.

The forum was attended by teachers and students from the Department of Sociology and Political Science of Voronezh State University (VSU), representatives of NGO “Politics and Time” (Voronezh), Kursk Regional Public Organization “Youth Parliament” (Kursk), Belarusian State University (Minsk), and Kosiv. Berdyansk, Kyiv and Chernihiv.

The Chernihiv side was represented by the manager of international projects of the Chernihiv city youth public organization “Polissya Fund of International and Regional Research” Boris Uvarov.

During the event, sectional meetings were organized, which discussed topical problems of young people, as well as developing projects of joint activity related to the subject matter of sections (problems and prospects of development of student self -government, student and youth media, culture of student environment, problems of youth employment, health).
