Experts contributed to strengthening the safety dimension of the policy of the Eastern Partnership in Kiev
International experts, including from the Eastern Partnership countries, participated in the International Expert Conference on Security on June 3-5, 2015. The event was conducted by the Polissya Fund of International and Regional Research in cooperation with the Eastern Partnership Civil Society Forum. A wide range of issues was reduced to a resolution with specific proposals for several security parameters that will be announced during the Eastern Partnership Civil Society Forum.
The Eastern Partnership, and in particular, Ukraine is currently at the Center for Conflict, which violates the foundations of the existing world order. Since 2014 Russia is openly speaking
The aggressor against Ukraine, which is caused by the annexation of Crimea and the conduct of a hybrid war in Eastern Ukraine in response to its European choice. As a result of the escalation of the conflict, more than 1 million citizens of Ukraine became internally displaced persons and more than 5 thousand people were killed. The European Security System is now unable to respond adequately to a full -scale military conflict in Ukraine, and EU sanctions are still not effective enough for conflict, not to mention the aggressor.
Considering the existing situation, a security event was held in Kyiv in early June. The main purpose of the conference was to conduct a wide discussion of experts to strengthen the security dimension of the policy of the Eastern Partnership, which covers the full range of possible soft and rigid measures. At the end of the conference, a resolution was prepared and adopted with specific proposals for several security parameters. It will be presented during the Civil Society for Brussels and Eastern Partnership Civil Society, which will take place in Kiev in November 2015.
