There will be an action “Influence on the budget of your city!”
July 29, 2016, from 11.00 to 15.00, at Chernihiv, Square. M. Popudrenko, the Polissya Fund of International and Regional Studies will conduct a street action “Influence on the budget of your city!”.
The purpose of the action is to increase the awareness and attention of residents of Chernihiv to the problems of local budgets, as well as to encourage local authorities to increase the transparency of the budget process and to participate in the public.
In the course of the action will be held:
– informing Chernihiv on the main issues of local budgets and the results of the first comprehensive assessment of local socio -economic and budgetary policy of 17 Ukrainian cities (according to the methodology of PUD – publicity, participation, integrity). All interested locals will be able to get booklets “Where are your money in the local budget?” and the monument “How to control your money in the local budget: 10 tips for active residents”, as well as personal consultations and clarification on local budgets from activists of the organization.
– involvement of Chernihiv to participate in the budget process. In particular, residents of the city will be able to fill in the budget proposal to the budget of the city of Chernihiv 2017. The range of proposals to the budget can be wide – repair of the road, installation of lighting or playground on a particular street or yard, organization of the thematic festival for tourists, implementation of measures to promote energy saving, etc. In parallel of the stock, budget proposals from city dwellers will be collected in the same form on-line during July 25-31 on the organization’s websitewww.izbirkom.org.ua. All the proposals of the locals thus collected will be systematized and are directed to the Chernihiv City Council in the form of an appeal.
The organizers of the action urge to join it in its holding of all active residents of the city, representatives of public organizations and activists. All interested media are invited!
