Youth for the Constitution
A series of events organized by the International Center for Promising Studies in Partnership with the Polissya Fund of International and Regional Studies with the support of the International Renaissance Foundation within the framework of the project “Using World Expert Experience and Public Consultations in the Process of Amendments to the Constitution of Ukraine” was held in the Chernihiv region.
In particular, eight public lectures were held on November-December on the topic: “The essence of the Constitution and its role in everyday life.” 92 students and 144 students such as Chernihiv National Technological University, Nizhyn Agrotechnical Institute, Gorbiv Secondary School of I-III degrees of Kulikov district, Minsk district gymnasium, Srebivnian teaching school for I-I-III degrees took part in the lectures. Chernihiv College №11, Chernihiv Lyceum №22 and Chernihiv Training and Rehabilitation Center №2.
The purpose of this project is to use the best international practices and expert experiences to increase the level of consciousness of representatives of society, namely the implementation of the understanding that the constitution is created by citizens themselves, without the influence of political forces. Examples of countries that went through Ukraine in the process of creation of the new constitution claim that the greatest investment was in consultation with its citizens in the provisions of the Basic Law, since such a process of participation has the potential for development, strengthening the sense of involvement in the processes Inside the country, building civil society.
In general, the measures were aimed at raising the level of political socialization of the younger generation, effective communication to young people’s knowledge about the role of a citizen, his rights and responsibilities, and the importance of everyone’s participation in the constitutional process.
