Status and prospects for the development of infrastructure of regions of Ukraine
The regional representation of the Friedrich Ebert Foundation in Ukraine in partnership with the Polissya Fund of International and Regional Studies and the Association of Regional Analytical Centers holds a round table to assess the status and prospects of infrastructure development of the regions of Ukraine.
The purpose of the event is to attract attention and familiarize with the peculiarities of the infrastructure development of the regions of Ukraine, its evaluation and search for ways of development.
Representatives of the Association of Regional Analytical Centers analyzed the current state of infrastructure components, revealed regional features of its functioning and possible perspective directions of development of infrastructure projects in each region of Ukraine. The results of the study showed that the strongest areas in infrastructure development were: Kirovohrad, Ternopil, Chernivtsi, Zhytomyr and Cherkasy; The worst indicators of infrastructure development belonged to the following areas: Sumy, Khmelnytsky, Transcarpathian, Ivano-Frankivsk and Odesa. The strongest components of the infrastructure for the studied period were: component of housing and communal services, component of communication and recreational component. Problematic and “weaknesses” were also identified, among the components of infrastructure, first of all it concerns the transport component, environmental (environmental) component, educational and medical component. Recommendations for the Ukrainian authorities and self -government bodies on projects to be taken into account when developing regional development strategies and targeted regional programs were also proposed.
Experts, researchers, public activists, public authorities, local self -government employees interested in this topic are invited to participate in the work of the round table “State and prospects for the development of infrastructure of the regions of Ukraine”.
