Start of the new project in support of communities of Chernihiv region: “Reboost: Public Center for Rapid Response and Restoration of Territorial Communities of Ukraine”


On August 9, 2022, a start-up online meeting was held as part of the Reboost: Public Rapid Response and Restoration and Restoration of Territorial Communities Center, which is supported by the project “Special Support Program of Ukraine”, which is being implemented by GIZ on behalf of the German Government, with the participation of representatives of governing bodies of territorial communities.

The project is performed by the Public Organization “Polissya Fund of International and Regional Research” and aims to promote the restoration, development and strengthening of stability of targeted territorial communities of Chernihiv region of Ukraine, which were affected during hostilities, in overcoming the unexpected challenges related to the state and public service. communities and internally displaced persons. Given the considerable number of IDPs in most projects of the project, special attention will be paid to the problems of this group of the population in the implementation of project measures, in particular:

– psychosocial assistance;

– consulting support in obtaining administrative services in existing conditions;

– Legal support in solving life situations.

The event was attended by representatives of Kulikovskaya, Minsk, Mikhail-Kotsyubynsk, Nizhyn, Oster, Prylutsk, Snovskaya, Sosnitskaya and Ivanovo territorial communities.

During the event, the head of the Polissya Fund Maxim Koryavets presented the main measures planned in the framework of the project:

  • conducting assessment of community needs for specification of specific challenges, which require legal support to local self -government bodies and administrative services;
  • a series of online training to increase the capacity and stability of local psychologists in providing psychosocial assistance to the population and IDPs;
  • an online training series to increase the capacity and stability of administrative services to the local population and IDPs;
  • providing specialized legal assistance to local self -government bodies to solve urgent problems in providing services to local population and IDPs;
  • development, printing and distribution of specific monuments for each target community in accordance with the needs of the local population and IDPs in psychosocial assistance and administrative services in specific crisis situations;
  • Technical support for target communities.

Community representatives emphasized the need and relevance of the project in view of the existing problems and challenges related to different areas of public life: deterioration of the mental health of the population in connection with the war; insufficiency of personnel support for the resolution of legal issues in the provision of municipal and administrative services to the local population and IDPs; the need to improve the system and processes of administrative services; difficulty in solving legal issues related to the stay in the IDP communities; difficulties in working with state registers; The need for legal assistance in overcoming the consequences of war.

The project will last until the end of 2022 and will provide active cooperation with target communities to solve available problems and challenges.
