Curriculum for the development of public associations of Chernihiv region


NGO Polissya Fund of International and Regional Research invites recently created public associations and initiativesorganizational development curriculum.

The program aims to increase the ability of 10 public associations and initiatives from the territorial communities of Chernihiv region to provide their own organizational development and to build domestic procedures and policies in accordance with international practices in order to further enter new levels of work and build their own activities.

The curriculum consists of the following thematic areas (a list of directions and training components can be supplemented depending on the needs of the target group):

  • Department of Public Association (Organization of Association; Financial Management and Accounting; Project Management and Project Administration).
  • Development of external communications of public association (work with international partners and donors; search for resources for organization: Fandering, crowdfunding, other; effective communication in the public sector and PR; work with stakeholders, target groups and beneficiaries in different sectors).
  • Strengthening the institutional capacity of public association (types and necessity of domestic policies in the organization; membership in networks and participation in network projects; digital tools for working in the public sector; search for resources for institutional support).

The training will provide the following workforce, which will be carried out during July – September 2023:

  • 6 offline trainings (the duration of one training – 3 days)
  • 6 online workshops (will be held in intervals between training)
  • 30 consultations (on average 3 organization/initiative consultations) on practical issues of current activity and institutional development of public associations.

All measures of the curriculum will be carried out on the basis of a hub capacity of NGOs “Cucumber” (3 Yavorsky St., Nizhyn, Chernihiv region, 16601).

Basic criteria for admission of public associations / initiatives to participate in the selection in the Organizational Development curriculum:

1) for registered public associations (public organizations and public unions):

– the organization must be registered in the status of a public association (public organization or public union);

– the organization must be registered and carrying out its main activity in the territory of the communities of Chernihiv region except the city of Chernihiv;

– The organization has filled out all points of the questionnaire to participate in the selection to the curriculum.

2) for public initiatives:

– the initiative should carry out its main activity in the territory of the communities of Chernihiv region, except the city of Chernihiv;

– the initiative intends to create a legal entity in the form of a public association (public organizations or public union) during the first month of the implementation of the curriculum (to confirm the intentions, the head of the initiative / future head of the registered organization must provide a letter on the relevant intentions on its own signature);

– The public initiative has filled out all points of the questionnaire to participate in the selection of the curriculum.

Advantage in selection will be given to organizations / initiatives that operate for up to 3 years.

* If necessary, the organizers of the Organizational Development curriculum may ask additional information from the applicants to make the final decision on the selection of organizations / initiatives.

** The participation of representatives of selected organizations / initiatives in all activities of the curriculum is mandatory.
