Awaiting local elections. The readiness of city political centers

On August 9, a round table was held at the “Clean Policy Expert Club” on the topic: “The readiness of city political centers for local elections” was held. Representatives of city organizations of political parties and media were invited to the event.

The main issues discussed: Analysis of Chernihiv’s political status today; analysis of the work of political forces presented in the current deputy corps of the city council; vision of the election campaign; the readiness of political forces for elections and presentation of candidates for the post of mayor. Representatives of political parties who participated in the discussion declared almost one hundred percent readiness for elections. And here about the candidates for the post of mayor, only the city center of the Ukrainian People’s Party announced its candidate – Alexander Kirichenko.
Yuri Tkach (People’s Party): “This year, the leadership of the city organization was updated. It is the new leader who will put forward the mayor. The number of party members decreased, but its most decent representatives remain. ”
Dmitry Gerasimenko (Socialist Party of Ukraine): “We still work on the formation of lists, it is a responsible work that requires a careful assessment of each candidate. I want to turn to all parties with advice to treat party lists very carefully. ”
Vyacheslav Lebed (Batkivshchyna): “In our political force, it was decided to hold the previous round of voting – primer. In this way, we will be able to discuss every candidacy not only at the level of our political force, but also to involve community representatives. This will allow us to know the level of trust in the city community candidates. “
Volodymyr Vinnychenko (Party of Regions): “We are ready for an election of one hundred percent. We will announce the candidacy for the post of mayor after a party conference. Perhaps it will already be a well -known personality. “
Mykola Skorobogatko (Communist Party of Ukraine): “We are satisfied with the work of our four deputies presented in the city council. The election lists may also appear non -party. The Plenum of the City Committee of the Party will make the final decision on approval of the candidacy for the post of mayor. “
Gennady Maxak, the President of the Polissya Fund of International and Regional Studies, focused on the specifics of current political parties at the local level, and pointed to the directions of possible public sector activities during current local elections. One of the forms of public activity can be the enlightenment of voters against candidates and political parties.
