Agrarian vocational education in Ukraine: realities and prospects (round table in Chernihiv)

On October 24, 2018, a roundtable dedicated to the condition and prospects of the vocational education system in the agricultural sector in Ukraine will be held in Chernihiv. The event will be held on the basis of the training and methodological center of vocational education in Chernihiv region (42 Kotsyubynsky St., 2nd floor), from 11.00 to 13.00.

The event organizes the Center for Cross -Border Cooperation within the framework of the project “Promoting Regional Professional Education in Agriculture and Rural Development in Eastern Partnership countries”, which receives support through regimenting schemeEastern Partnership Civil Society Forumand is funded by the European Union as part of its support for civil society in the region.

The results of the study, which was based, including on a sociological survey, showed that only 4 out of 100 practical centers of sectoral direction in Ukraine are focused on the preparation of agrarian students. Despite the high level of disadvantage of VET graduates, the demand for working professions remains dissatisfied.

We will also say that it impedes the employment of graduates of VET agricultural professions, the reasons for the unpopularity of vocational education, the inaccuracy and inability of the modern system of training of workers of agricultural industry to ensure the training of skilled workers in accordance with the socio-economic needs of society.

Representatives of regional authorities, public organizations and media are invited to participate.
