Competition “Important Solutions – with Cold Chairman. Revily information on the subject of EU and NATO for citizens of Ukraine”
The Association “Center for European Cooperation” (Poland) jointly by the Public Organization “Polissya Fund of International and Regional Studies” (Ukraine) announces a competition for Ukrainian journalists for the best information material in the media on the topic of the European Union and NATO.
The competition is held within the framework of the project “Important Solutions – with a Cold Chairman. Abstile information on the subject of EU and NATO for citizens of Ukraine”, which is implemented with the financial support of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Poland.
The project aims to increase the level of awareness of Ukrainian citizens about the activities of international institutions of EU and NATO, the features of building relations of Ukraine with the European Union and the North Atlantic Alliance, the use of Poland’s experience in accelerating the pace of European and Euro -Atlantic integration of Ukraine by improving quantitative and qualitative indicators in the Ukrainian media.
The competition consists of two stages. In the first stage of the competition, 18 winners will be selected, the materials of which will be recognized as the best from the point of compliance with the subject matter, professionalism of writing the material, as well as the number of final recipients of the material-circulation (in justified cases, a couple “journalist-widower” can be invited to participate in a study visit. In August 2009, a given group of winners will be able to visit Poland as part of a study visit, where during meetings with official officials, public experts, Polish journalists and ordinary citizens will have the opportunity to deepen their knowledge about EU and NATO activities, the features of the Polish path in integration. The organizers cover the funds of residence, food, translation, insurance, transportation from Kiev to Poland and back.
The obligatory condition for participation in the trip is the obligation of the participant of the visit to prepare and publish during August-October information material on the basis of stay in Poland on the basis of meetings with Polish experts and public figures. These materials will be considered during the second stage of the competition.
During the second stage, the best journalistic materials will be identified most objectively cover the features of information content of stay in Poland. The solemn awarding of the winners will be held at the end of the year in Kiev at the final conference of the project.
In the first stage, the journalists are accepted in the competition in arbitrary from journalistic genres (interviews, essays, television/radioporting, cycle, journalistic report, etc.). Publication of work in the media (or aired) is a prerequisite for participation in the competition. The material should be processed in an interesting and accessible form, to stimulate the interest of Ukrainian citizens with the problems of the EU and NATO, the relations of Ukraine with the specified international structures. Additional advantages will be the materials that touch Poland’s experience in approaching and joining NATO and the EU. Participation in the television journalists competition is welcome.
The works will be evaluated by the following criteria: compliance with the content of the material, the objectivity of the submitted works, the volume of information material, the number of readers/viewers/listeners (circulation of the publication or audience for this airtime) is a mandatory publication in the media.
To participate in the competition, you must send the following materials:
– text of the publication in electronic form (WARD) and scanned copy of the article (in the case of video and audio materials, please send a CD with a record of material with ordinary or courier mail);
– completed questionnaire of the participant of the competition (the form of the questionnaire is added – only the electronic version);
– scanned first page of foreign passport* (electronic version only);
* If you do not have a foreign passport at the time of submission of the competition, but you plan to get it before the end of the competition (June 20, 2009), then you can indicate it in the questionnaire and send the first page scan by June 20, 2009.
The competitive materials should be sent with the note “for the competition important solutions”.
The deadline for admission is 18.00 on June 20, 2009 (in the case of materials sent by mail, the date of receipt is considered). The competitive materials obtained later will not be considered.
On June 30, 2009, 18 winners of the first stage of the competition will be announced, which will be invited to participate in a study visit to Poland and to participate in the second stage of the competition.
