Educational visits of representatives of the educational environment of Ukraine to Krakow and Wroclaw

The Association “Center for European Cooperation” (Poland) together with the Public Organization “Polissya Fund of International and Regional Research” (Ukraine) successfully implemented the next stage of the project “We – Citizens. We are Europeans. Formation of civic position in youth in Ukraine ” – educational visits to Poland.

From November 11 to November 17, 2012, the first training visit of representatives of the educational environment of Ukraine to Krakow was held.

Teachers of secondary schools and representatives of NDO of Chernihiv, Kyiv and Poltava regions were able to see with their own eyes the process of teaching civic education in Poland.

To this end, the participants of the first visit visited the elementary school №2 of Krakow city and a group of general and integration schools №3 (elementary school №158 and gymnasium №25).

Guests from Ukraine were watched in classes concerning the rights of the child in kindergarten # 104 with the integration department, got acquainted with the programs in the field of education on the European Union, which are implemented in kindergartens №151 and # 115.

Participants also were given the opportunity to get acquainted with the activities of an extensive network of youth centers of the city, to visit their separate sections, to meet with participants of classes and circles: they visited the Youth House of Culture “House Scout” (which includes a recreation center and equestrian rehabilitation “Towns”), youth center. Dr. Henryk Jordan, Youth Center of Culture. Galchinsky, Youth House of Culture Fort 49 “Kreslavice”.

Within the framework of a study visit, the meeting of his participants with the President of the city took place in the city administration of Krakow. The staff of the administration also introduced guests to Ukraine with the Civic Education System in Krakow.

From November 17 to November 23, 2012, a second study visit to Wroclaw, during which participants got acquainted with work in the field of youth policy of the city administration of Wroclaw, learned about the Polish education system, shared their experience with Polish colleagues and received useful advice in the direction of reorganization of civic education.

In addition, members of the city’s public organizations told about their successfully implemented youth initiatives and a permanent volunteer movement.

To obtain complex knowledge of the peculiarities of education of the position of a conscious citizen, a meeting was organized with representatives of one of the largest business corporations, Google, and dignitaries of various religious denominations, which presented their work on the way to activation of young people and work in the field of multicultural education.

At the end of the visits, all participants received certificates of participation, useful knowledge and unforgettable impressions.
