Expert of the Polissya Fund “On the way to energy independence of Ukraine”

On June 22, the Polissya Foundation representative Natalia Visikanets attended a conference on energy saving issues. The event “on the way to Ukraine’s energy independence” is held by the World Bank to clarify the reasons for changes in the price of gas and the ability to protect the population during changes.

Whether the energy sector is stable in its current form, why changes in gas and heat supply sectors are needed, how the state protects vulnerable population groups and maintains energy availability and how the population consumes energy and how much pays for them – for these and other questions a group of experts and simply interested activists.

At the end of the event, the recommendations were developed on the information campaign to clarify the reasons for raising tariffs. After all, properly provided information will allow consumers to understand the need for this increase. In addition, the recommendations concerned information on energy efficiency programs funded by the state to improve the energy efficiency situation.

Therefore, the price of gas will increase, and consumers need to take care of how to save, using state programs and local initiatives.
