The Chernihiv Region has entered the pilot regions of the project “Strengthening cooperation of power and civil society at the local level for the sake of community development”

The Laboratory of Legislative Initiatives began the project “Increasing the cooperation of power and civil society at the local level for the sake of community development”. The project is carried out with the support of the Mattha Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands.

The main purpose of the project is to stimulate the cooperation of the authorities and the public at the local level by training representatives of local NGOs and local authorities to strategies, models, tools of joint activity (cooperation) for the sake of development of local communities.
The project envisages the following tasks:
1. Creating a meaningful base to enhance the capacity of local NGOs and authorities to conduct effective campaigns at the local level
2. Increasing the ability of local NGOs and local authorities to conduct joint effective campaigns at local level in pilot regions
3. Creating an organizational base to increase the capacity of local NGOs and local authorities to conduct joint effective campaigns at the local level.
The project will be implemented in four regions of Ukraine:
– Autonomous Republic of Crimea (Regional Partners – Integration and Development Center and International NGO Bizim Qirim)
– Volyn Region (Regional Partner – Center for Political Analysis and Electoral Consulting)
– Odesa region (regional partner – Odesa Regional Organization “Committee of Voters of Ukraine”)
– Chernihiv region (regional partner – Polissya Fund of International and Regional Research)
The project is envisaged:
• Preparation of 8 future trainers capable of training local NGOs and authorities in the future
• Testing the possibility of prepared future coaches to participate in the development and conduct of trainings by involving them in the process of development and direct conduct of coaches
• Training 28 representatives of local NGOs and 28 local authorities in 4 pilot regions of joint work skills for community development
• Testing the ability to use the skills learned by participants in the training of joint projects at the level of territorial communities (4 projects – one in each pilot region)
• exchange of positive experience of project participants.
